Religious Education for Youth

Teens are integrated into the larger congregation, contributing their insights and talents during Sunday services, at congregational service projects, and at all-church social events. Youth leadership at these intergenerational events helps teens prepare for active membership and provides role modeling for younger children.

  Independent Study Options

Teens who are preparing for Coming of Age (age 14-15) or Bridging (age 17-19) are invited to set up an independent study. The program would include directed readings, short assignments, meetings with the minister, and experiences such as community service. Youth who complete Coming of Age and Bridging will share their insights and be celebrated during a Sunday morning worship service in the late spring.

In cooperation with the other 70 congregations in the five-state area of the Joseph Priestley District, district-wide overnight conferences give teens opportunities for faith development, social justice, and community-building.
