Social Responsibility
Social Responsibility Committee -
We affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person, with justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
Purpose -
To assess the social and environmental needs of Harford County and its surrounding areas and to determine in what capacity the our congregation can be of service. Because we are a small congregation our focus is primarily toward local support where we can be most effective.

To apprise our society members of these needs and encourage their support.

To discuss current local, national and international issues of human concern, inform the membership of these issues and offer means of taking action.
Advocacy and Support -
ADVOCACY

We engage in local efforts to promote diversity and racial justice.

We keep the congregation informed on issues of human concern and encourage action on the issues which matter to them.
SUPPORT
Circle of Hope is the umbrella for our community outreach programs to support those in need. We support the Circle of Hope through the generous donations of our members and occasional fund raisers

Neighbors in Need
The Circle of Hope provides emergency assistance to families or individuals in Harford County. Often the Department of Social Services (DSS) is unable to provide sufficient help for emergency situations. When DSS believes in the validity of the emergency, they suggest that the individual appeal to churches in the area for help. The emergency may be for such things as assistance with an overdue fuel bill or overdue rent where eviction notice has been given.

Harford County Food Bank -
The congregation supports the Harford County Food Bank with regular donations as part of our Circle of Hope program.

We asked the Food Pantry if there were any food items that were in short supply that a small church like ours could donate and make an impact. The Food Pantry explained that they get peanut butter through federal and state food distributions and bread donation from local grocers, but are frequently short of grape jelly that is a favorite of needy children for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

We call ourselves the Grape Jelly Church because we concentrate our donations on supplying grape jelly.

Sharing Table - Organized by a group of churches and hosted by Prince of Peace Church in Edgewood, The Sharing Table has been serving Harford County each Saturday for many years.

The Unitarian Universalists of Fallston takes the lead on this outreach project with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County (UUFHC) and volunteers three times per year at The Sharing Table. We typically serve a meal of pizza (cheese or pepperoni), salad, green beans, and dessert.

Welcome One Homeless Shelter -

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County (UUHFC) takes the lead on this outreach project supporting the shelter the 13th of every month. The UUF teams up with the UUHFC on this project and provides volunteer support and contributes it’s share of expenses.
