Sunday Services
Music is an important part of our services. Both live and recorded music are often used at our services.

We have several musicians in our congregation who offer live music as accompaniment to hymns or solo instrumental or vocal performances. We also may use hymns adapted for services with original
Unitarian Universalist Lyrics.

Here is an original composition by member Chuck Selfe: Dig the Mystery.mp3

Our talented musiciams have recently formed a band called UU2 with the motto "We Rock the Spirit." UU2 performs frequently at Sunday Services and at our Soulful Sundown Services. As UU2 develops a repertoire of songs we hope to expand performances to public venues to share our love of music and support organizations that work to benefit our community. Here is a short video clip from a recent performance by UU2 Fallston. The song is "Rocket Man."

The Soulful Sundown is a contemporary Sunday evening service expressing the spiritual through the arts. One of the main forms of expression for our Soulful Sundowns is through music although we explore other artistic expressions by the talented folks who participate in these services.

One of our recent Soulful Sundown was in April 2008 with the EARTH DAY theme. The service celebrated the beauty of our fragile earth and provided the opportunity to dedicate ourselves to be responsible stewards of it's treasures. Members of the Baltimore Songwriters Association performed original musical compositions on environmental themes.

Here are two video segments from that service: John Seay engages the audience with his original song "The Last Species Standing" and congregational participants act up in the "Recycle Rap" written by Scott Phillips for the Earth Day Soulful Sundown servicewith the lyrics at Unitarian Universalist Lyrics.

More Music
The UUF has concerts during the year either in our church sanctuary or at our amphitheater when the weather is pleasant. One of our popular formats is the Open Mic Night which draws gifted musicians from the region. Some are open format and others may be oriented to a musical or seasonal theme.

The"Drum for Peace" drum circle gathers on the second Saturday of the month at 8pm and usually plays for three hours. Come and go as you like. All ages are welcome to the drumming circle and extra drums and other instruments are usually available for general use.

Exercise the mind, body and spirit. For more information contact Franz at 410-925-9351.
